Beef Tacos Recipe

Ingredients
The Protein

Ground Beef: 500g (lean or 80/20 for more flavor).

Taco Seasoning: 1 tbsp chili powder, 1 tsp cumin, ½ tsp garlic powder, ½ tsp onion powder, salt, and pepper.

Oil: 1 tbsp (olive or vegetable).

The Shells

Tortillas: Small corn or flour tortillas.

The Toppings (Choose your favorites!)

Fresh: Shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and red onions.

Creamy: Sour cream (crème fraîche) or shredded cheddar cheese.

Zesty: Fresh cilantro, lime wedges, and pickled jalapeños.

Saucy: Your favorite salsa or guacamole.

Step-by-Step Instructions
Brown the Meat: Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess fat if necessary.

Season: Lower the heat to medium. Add your taco seasoning and a small splash of water (about 50ml). Stir well and let it simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the meat.

Warm the Tortillas: In a separate dry pan, heat the tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until they are soft and slightly charred. Keep them warm inside a clean kitchen towel.

Assemble: Place a generous spoonful of the beef in the center of a warm tortilla.

Garnish: Add your toppings! Start with the cheese so it melts slightly on the meat, then add the lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and a squeeze of fresh lime juice.

Serve: Top with a dollop of sour cream or salsa and eat immediately while hot!
