First, you need a pan that fits on the grill. Fill it with water and put it on the stove. Add two dishwasher tablets to the water. The water should boil; then, place a rack in the pan and let it boil for about half an hour.
After removing the rack from the hot water, start cleaning it immediately; any available tool will do, for example, a sponge or a brush

The action of the hot water and the tablet’s components will soften the grease, making it easy to remove. Any remaining hardened carbon deposits can be scraped off with a knife.

This way I clean half of the grate, then I turn it over, put the dirty side in the pan, and repeat the entire process.
