Alcohol Infusion

The “Green Spirit” Rub (Alcohol Infusion)
This is a traditional topical remedy often used in folk medicine for rheumatism and varicose veins. It is meant for external use only.

Ingredients:

500ml of 70% Alcohol (Isopropyl or Ethyl alcohol)

5-10 Aspirin tablets (crushed)

2-3 Dried Bay Leaves (laurel)

1 sprig of Fresh Rosemary (optional, for circulation)

1 small piece of Camphor (optional, found in pharmacies)

Instructions:

Crush the tablets: Turn the aspirin into a fine powder.

Combine: Place the powder, bay leaves, and rosemary into a dark glass bottle or jar.

Pour the alcohol: Fill the bottle with the alcohol and seal it tightly.

Infuse: Let the mixture sit in a cool, dark place for 24 to 48 hours. Shake it once or twice a day.

Application: Soak a cotton ball or cloth in the liquid and gently rub it onto the painful areas (knees, ankles, or over varicose veins) before bed.

Why these ingredients are used:
Aspirin: Contains salicylic acid, which can be absorbed through the skin to provide local pain relief.

Bay Leaves: Known for anti-inflammatory properties.

Rosemary: Often used to stimulate blood flow and reduce swelling.

Alcohol: Acts as a carrier and provides a cooling sensation.

⚠️ Important Safety Notes
External Use Only: Never drink this mixture.

Skin Test: Always do a small patch test first to ensure there is no allergic reaction or chemical burn.

Avoid Wounds: Do not apply to broken skin, open sores, or ulcers (common with advanced varicose veins).

Consult a Professional: If your mother has a history of heart issues or is on blood thinners, check with her doctor before using aspirin-based rubs.
